Chapters

In January of 2009 I returned home to St.Croix, US Virgin Islands to "start over". It was definitely a new chapter filled with new people, new beginnings and overall a new way of life. In the three years that I've been back home I have built new relationships and started to get back the material things that I lost or had to let go from my life in Atlanta. Before I moved back home, I felt that it was the right thing to do and the right place for me to be.

I have had mixed emotions about this since being here. On one hand I have met some amazing new people, reconnected with some from the past, finished school, learned more about me, my family and life. On the other hand, I have missed my old friends and my old life, I've cried a lot, too much and relationships that I thought would get better actually got worse or some are now non-existent. I guess with everything you do there will be ups and downs and with that said I'll just say that while I wasn't my happiest in the three years that I've been here, I also would not have met certain people or had some of the great experiences that I did have if I didn't move back home to try. It was a chapter in my life that I had to go through, I've learned from it and now it's time to turn the page.

In August of this year I will be saying good bye to St.Croix and saying hello to Florida. I used to say I was starting over again, but I'm going to look at it as another chapter, a continuation of the story of my life. It'll be a new place, new job, new clothes, new car, new furniture (can you tell i'm excited about shopping!!) and in some ways a new me, but it is still going to be my life. I'm done with starting over, I am going to live and make each day & each new chapter better than the other. I can't control the events that have impacted my life, but I can control my reactions to them. I am excited, I am afraid, I am optimistic, I am nervous, I am ready to try and no matter what I will not regret anything!
