Weekend Recap!

I'm off to a good start on Monday! My weekend was good, not super eventful, but not a drag which I have learned to greatly appreciate. On Friday I had almost lost all hopes of finding a car that 1. Was reliable and 2. I would like/love. I had seen a few advertised in the paper, but everything was either way out of my price range or just not what I was looking for.

I'm very picky when it comes to vehicles. Someone at a dealership once told me I have steak taste with a hamburger budget! Big Mistake! Cause I walked my ass right next door and bought a car that I liked with my "hamburger budget" & he lost out on some major commission! The thing is that I know what I can & can't afford. I'm not going out there with $10,000 and trying to buy a Bentley, but shit it also doesn't mean I want a freaken Focus! I'm very thorough when it comes to researching cars and how much they cost to maintain. I just don't believe in buying a car because it's the cheapest thing on the lot. I feel like if I'm spending my money on it, it should be something that I will want to drive two or three years from now. I don't do Ford! Anyhoo, I say all of that to say that to give you an idea of the headache my car search has caused me.
I was originally going to buy a BMW 325i from Atlanta. I had everything set, but the seller kept putting me off and I was becoming impatient. Then I thought about how much I would be spending in shipping, then customs fees, and finally insurance once I got the car here. I would have ended up paying a few thousand dollars more than what it was worth. I decided to let that go and think about buying a car locally.
The second option was a 2002 Ford Explorer. It looked very nice & was clean, but after reading reviews they talked about suspension problems and I decided to check on that first. My co-worker had just sold her explorer for the same problem and she told me that a few friends were having the same issues. I needed a car really bad, but it wouldn't be worth it if I had to go straight from the Lot to the mechanic!
My hopes were going down and then Saturday a friend of the family took me to see a Lexus. I wasn't too hyped up because the guy wanted way more than what I had in my budget. I test drove the car and everything seemed perfect. Then we started talking $$. To my surprise I managed to talk him down on the price and if all goes according to plan then Friday I will be the proud owner of a Lexus IS300! Keep your fingers crossed folks!
The rest of that day I was on a cloud! Happy that finally something was going my way. I spend the rest of the evening at home with the kiddo and just hung out. Sunday was beach day! I love the beach no matter what you've been through in a day, the ocean always seems to wash it away. I also love seeing my baby's face at the beach, she get's super excited so that's a plus for me. The weekend was pretty cool after all and so I'm here with a curly/crazy do because I was not blow drying/flat ironing my hair last night, but I'm good & excited!
Happy Monday!
